Michael Frahm - The Exercise Of Look And Fail To See

Michael Frahm’s series “The Exercise Of Look And Fail To See” provides some striking portraits.

“Can something as superficial as clothing embody as much depth as personality holds? I seeked in thirteen countries of two continents for the possibility of identity and individuality, travelled every week anew alone to place unknown to me an searched for the ‘ones’ that utilize clothing as an expressive means of their personality.”

Michael Frahm, born 1984 in Eutin / Germany, studied communication design at the University of Mannheim. He lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium.

Phillip Toledano’s project “Days with my Father” is the description of a lack: the lack of a short-term memory, the lack of a normal relation…
But despite the strong emotions Phillip Toledano’s project is mostly kept in a reportage style.

Joerg Brueggemann - Mas Austral

“In 1975 Bruce Chatwin wrote in his travel novel ‘In Patagonia’ that Ushuaia is a childless city with residents who cast unfriendly glances at strangers. Today you will find a different picture. Shortly after Chatwin’s visit a free trade zone was established which led to fast urban development. Whereas in 1975 there were 7000 people living in Ushuaia, today it hosts nearly 60 000. Most of them were young families coming North of Argentina looking for work with their children. They are also the reason why I went to the world’s most Southern city. I wanted to know what it was like being young while living at the end of the world.” – Joerg Brueggemann about ‘Mas Austral’
