As part of the exhibition “Ueber Tage – Pixelprojekt_Ruhrgebiet” which presents the Pixelprojekt_ Ruhr, the artist talk “A question of perspective: Approaches and impact of photography today” takes place at the Kunstmuseum Mülheim on 11th March 2010 at 7 pm.

Participants will be, among others, Peter Liedtke (photographer and founder of Pixelprojekt_Ruhrgebiet), Dr. Beate Reese (Director of the Kunstmuseum Mülheim an der Ruhr) and Prof. Thomas Weski (Professor at the HGB Leipzig).

Artist Talk with Katja Stuke & Oliver Sieber in Berlin

On occasion of the exhibition “Supernatural“ with works of Katja Stuke at the gallery Loris in Berlin there is an artist talk with Katja Stuke, Oliver Sieber and Claudia Stein (photography.now) on Thursday, 21 January 2010 at 7pm.

The two Düsseldorf photographers Stuke and Sieber have been producing this photographic project in magazine form since 1999 under the title “Frau Böhm” and later “Die Böhm”.

Frederic Lezmi – Book Launch in Cologne

On 10th of December 2009 at 7 pm Frederic Lezmi presents his new book “Beyond Borders – From Vienna to Beirut” at the Gallery Lichtblick in Cologne. The book is published by Schaden.com / White Press.

The book is a handmade leporello with a length of 11 meters. In 32 pictures a search for the border between Europe and the Orient is shown. It comes in an edition of 150, each signed and numbered.

The Deutsche Fotografische Akademie presents lectures and slide shows on its conference at the Deichtorhallen Hamburg on 05th and 06th December 2009. Amongst others with Kirill Golovchenko, Andreas Meichsner and Isadora Tast.

On the 06th December at 18:15 the Portfolio Walk takes place for the third time. More than 20 artists, amongst others Ute Klein, Claudio Rasano and Horatiu Sava will present their portfolio.

Sonic Tours Berlin – Some Pickings

Sonic Tours Berlin

Although Berlin is the capital of German photographers, the first Sonic Tours group was quiet small. Anyway we had a nice time and fine discussions.

David Wieck shows at EMCC in the west of the city portraits, which concern to the special moment when humans drop their mask.

Thomas Demand presents large sized Diasecs at the Neue Nationalgalerie, supplemented by comments of the writer Botho Strauß. Thomas Demand forms hyperrealistic photos from the haze of media coverage. more…
