“Fallen angels from heaven, wrapped in sheets garish robots, futuristic knights and princesses. In this way, encased in heavy armor, transmuted by the speed of change, Chinese’s teens take refuge in the imaginary dream, the ones of the epic heroes and characters of Manga and Japanese cartoons.”
Daniele Mattioli is an Italian photographer based in Shanghai. After many China-based assignments and publications, he decided to relocate to Shanghai in 2004.

“Following a collision with a pothole, we became inspired and developed a concept where we could transform the pothole into a prop and find an alternative use for it. We staged a series of guerilla street-level photo shoot, turning craters in Montréal, New York and Los Angeles into objects of fancy.”

Scattered throughout the Maine woods, these homes are disconnected from the grid of wires and media that bind distant Americans together. Although they have all rejected aspects of the modern world, their beliefs and commitments vary widely – ranging from environmentalism to Evangelisation evangelism to anarchism.” – Keliy Anderson-Staley
Keliy Anderson-Staley, born in 1977 in Massachusetts, lives and works in Astoria, New York.
