“In my project, I am concerned with the imminent radical changes of tourist regions in Sri Lanka after the end of the civil war in 2009 that had lasted almost thirty years.
In 2011, more than 750.000 tourists visited Sri Lanka -never before had so many tourists visited the country in one year. The government is aiming to achieve a number of 2.6 million tourists in the year of 2016 – in a few years, the tourist regions will change drastically.
It struck me in these regions that the atmosphere was calm – but at the same time there was a sense of tenseness in the air. It was only on taking a closer look that the signs of imminent, unavoidable changes became apparent. Investors from Sri Lanka and abroad had already secured many land areas.
It seemed to me that the barriers to structural change had just been opened. However, the consequences of that rapid change are still not clear, even today.” – Yannik Willing

Gabriele Harhoff’s Asian travel notes are spontaneous and light-footed without falling into arbitrariness.
“For me photography is a means to explore. I am interested in “non-moments”, in human – mostly urban – living spaces, where anonymous persons, objects, colors, forms and textures all are equally important.” – Gabriele Harhoff

“Hinterland is a very personal work. I am concerned about the feeling I have when I leave the city. And about the stories that play on Germany’s side stages.” – Sebastian Pranz

Denotes the equilibrium state, the balance in the forces acting on a system with each other. This state remains stable as long as he is not disturbed by external influences. (…) Based on current and anticipated climatic events, the work deals with the action and the perception of people in an unstable equilibrium system. – André Hemstedt & Tine Reimer

“I landed in the hostel shortly before Italy failed its last chance in the Soccer World Cup, where I learned that I was only 15 minutes walk from the legendary FC Liverpool stadium. (…) I found myself walking along a very narrow street among small brick-houses, no one around; in the background was the stadium and some loud music was coming from the corner. I suddenly saw a guy jumping up the wall and throwing the ashes of the barbecue on the other side of it, into the abandoned house’s backyard.
He was celebrating his 20th birthday on the street together with his twin sister, some friends, the grandfather, and the niece. I right got a beer too and we partied on late in different houses on the street; I came back everyday for four days: together, we visited the granny, went back to the supermarket three times a same day, ate fish and chips and chocolate, while Mel and her daughter continuously tried to find out who loves whom more: ‘I love you!’, ‘and I love you 2′, ‘but I love you 3!’, ’so I love you 4′.” – Chiara Dazi
