Wolfram Hahn’s work Kaffee Bankrott potraits persons who have a hard time to cope with the material contstraints of our society. They mostly fail to assert themselves in our normative system hence maintain their own special behaviour often incomprehensible to the average citizen. The aim of the project was to offer those people a possibility to introduce their situation and environment to confront the audience with it and induce a possible reaction. The portraits have been exhibited between December 2008 and January 2009 at the subway station Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin. The self-published catalogue in an edition of 300 documents the photo series and the exhibition, with a accompanying text by Daniel Klemm.

“Photography is like life… What does it all mean? I don’t know – but you get an impression, a feeling… An impression of walking through the street, walking through the park, walking through life. I’m very suspicious of people who say they know what it means.” – Leonard Freed, 1929 – 2006

“Started from a need to describe a certain sense of loss, the series ‘Celestial Planisphere’ is about people the traces they leave in everyday life. We are always in search of something that comforts us, something that gives us an answer, a consolation. Do these traces tell us more about our existence?” – Daniel Augschoell about ‘Celestial Planisphere’

Stray Cats is not only a U.S. band with a mix of rockabilly, punk and new wave, but also one of the few German blogs on Photography: StrayCats, the weblog of the photographers collective BerlinPhotoWorkshops.
For a year now StrayCats presents its own inspiring sound, mixed with photographers, projects, events and exhibitions. Congratulations!
“Rockabilly went deeper than the blues. He had his own face, his own outfit, his own hair style and a sound that crashed into the feet. Rockabilly was striking, hard and complex. Rockabilly had all the things we liked.” – Brian Setzer
