On 03rd and 04th December 2011 the DFA conference takes place again at the Hamburger Haus der Photographie. The conference offers presentations and slide shows by members and guests and gives a forum for contemporary photography.

Now you can apply for the 05th Portfolio Walk which takes place in the Deichtorhallen in the context of the conference on 03. December 2011.

The Portfolio Walk has been established in recent years as an integral part of the DFA conference. It gives photographers the opportunity to present their work to a wide audience.

Léonie Hampton - In the Shadow of Things

“For over a decade Léonie’s mother Bron found it impossible to empty the packing boxes which had filled her new home since the collapse of her first marriage. The boxes, along with packed plastic bags and accumulated artefacts from her former life, were a constant, physical reminder to her family of Bron’s long-running battle with OCD. (…) The book ‘In the Shadow of Things‘ combines original photographs with found family images and transcripts of conversations, arguments and monologues.”

New Ostkreuz-Store online

 

The Berlin based photo agency OSTKREUZ now offers its own Online-Store with selected work of their nineteen photographers.

In addition to classic fine art prints, more unusual forms of presentation can be found as well.
Fox example color laser copies by Julian Röder can be ordered, which will be papered by the photographer himself to the wall.

In the blurb book “The Theatre of Real Life” participants of the same titled seminar by Wolfgang Zurborn at Lichtblick School Cologne present their works created during the seminar.

“Photography allows us to encounter directly the meaningful in our everyday life. The participants worked during the 6-month seminar with their subjective preferences, following their own topics and have come to very different photographic solutions between factual documentation, complex concepts and subjective artistic interpretation.” – Wolfgang Zurborn.

The book includes works of Enrico Duddeck, Peter Feldhaus, Christine Fischer, Stefan Hammer, Susanne Heincke, Werner Mansholt and Wolfgang Sümmermann.

The series of Bernd Arnold shows in impressive black and white images the poses and rituals of German politicians from three decades.
